Pendant Tags

The theme today over at the That’s Crafty Challenge Blog is  “Anything Goes”.  The challenge will run for 3 weeks over the Christmas period and there is a £20 Gift Voucher to be won.
When I first saw these tiny MDF  tags by That’s Crafty I had no idea what I could do with them then it came to me they were a perfect size for jewellery pendants so I made 3.

Pendant  1
That’s Crafty MDF Tag 1.2ins x 2.32ins (3cms x 5.8cms)
Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Sweet Violet Purple Teal
Black Texture Paste
Black Archival ink
Crow stamp from stash
Jewellery findings from stash

I spritzed the MDF tag with the Lindy’s Starburst Spray, no gesso.  The colour is really unusual and it changes depending on where the light is, moving from mauve to teal and all shades in between kind of have to see it in the flesh to really see it properly.  Next I stamped the crow  in black archival and using the black texture paste added some of the tiny bats from the That’s Crafty Dinky Stencil.  I added findings to complete the pendant.

Pendant  2
That’s Crafty MDF Tag 1.2ins x 2.32ins (3cms x 5.8cms)
Gesso
DecoArt Crackle Paste
Liny’s Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays – Time Travel Teal and Mad Hatter Mint
Cosmic Shimmer Gold Paint
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Philosophy Tag
Jewellery Findings
Cosmic Shimmer Glue

I started with a light coat of Gesso as the DecoArt  Crackle Paste works better on sealed surfaces, then added a a nice thick layer.
Using a brush I painted both the Starbursts onto my pendant.
I ran the Cosmic Shimmer gold paint round the edge of the pendant with my finger (but you could use a brush), and rubbed it into the  Philosophy Tag leaving it for 5 minutes then wiping away with a damp cloth so the paint stays only in the de-bossed area.  I attached the tag to the pendant with glue and added jewellery findings.

Pendant 3
That’s Crafty MDF Tag 1.2ins x 2.32ins (3cms x 5.8cms)
Gesso
Archival Inkpad Sienna
Lindy’s Stamp Gang Flat Fabio Magicals in Caribbean Blue and  Pineapple Paradise from the Caribbean Cruise set
Matte Medium
That’s Crafty Dinky Stencil Circles
DecoArt Modelling Paste

I coated the tag with the gesso to ensure a clean white background.  Next I stamped the bird in Sienna ink onto the tag.  I coloured the background using a tiny amount of the Magicals mixed with Matte Medium.  When dry I added the circles using the Dinky Stencil and Modelling Paste and finished it with jewellery findings
